Livadhia Harbour, Tilos, Greece

Not to be used for navigation

DESCRIPTION

Approaches are wide and clear.  The breakwater has recently been extended and there is room for a number of yachts, side tied or stern to. It is well protected from all but East winds.  There is a resident harbourmaster.  She is German and speaks very good English (and German!).  The ferry shown in the Google Earth Photo above is not normally moored in the harbour.

MOORING

The harbour is quite deep, there are laid lines on the shore side of the harbour and no anchoring is allowed in the harbour, so the rest of the space is for side-tied boats.  The harbourmaster will tell you where to tie up and has squeezed over seventy yachts in here during a regatta!  Rafting is required at busy times.

FACILITIES ASHORE

WIFI:  We were able to pick up an unsecured wifi signal in the harbour.
UTILITIES: The harbour has blue boxes dotted around with 220v electricity and water hookups.  The harbourmaster will unlock one and hook you up.  In 04/2009 Electricity was 4 euros a day and water 1 euro for 100 litres.
GROCERY STORES:   This is a very small community and there are a few small stores selling a limited selection of goods .
OFFICIALDOM: The Harbour Police are located on the North side of the harbour near the boat ramp.
ANYTHING ELSE:  Ask the harbourmaster.
